In an earlier statement, founder of SIMMOD and Award-Winning Cinematographer, Ron Sim, CSC, said the following: “As a fellow cinematographer from humble beginnings, it has been my honor and privilege to serve you. What started as a passion to finding solutions to convert vintage lenses for my own use quickly evolved into a business that allowed thousands of filmmakers around the globe to do the same—that is, to simply convert a 30+ year old lens to work on modern cameras. My main objective at the time—and still is to this day—was to make lens modding affordable, SIMple, and available to anyone with modest means to create high quality images with the lenses at their disposal. No longer did one have to live in Los Angeles to get their lenses converted, nor was it only for large budget productions. Today, through your trust in me and my products, we’ve made lens modding accessible to everyone.”
